Possible symptoms after surgery
Mild pain in the area around the incision within 24-48 hours after surgery
There may be slight congestion of the conjunctiva, the cornea causing redness, a feeling of lump in the eyes
The area around the eyes is bruised and swollen
May have difficulty opening and closing eyelids (restricted eyelid movement) due to swelling
There are tears, oozing
Eyelid wrinkles look unnatural at first

Care after surgery
Do not scratch, bump or press on the newly operated area as it may cause bleeding and hematoma
Use antibiotics, pain relievers, anti-edema, anti-scar drugs... as prescribed by the doctor
Change the dressing within 24 hours of surgery and completely rest for 1 day after surgery
Apply ice for the first 2 days after surgery to help reduce swelling. Should cover with a clean towel to avoid ice burns the skin.
From the 4th day onwards, apply a warm compress to reduce swelling and bruising
Gargle every 2 hours with a ready-made solution (Betadine, Eludril...)
Depending on the location of each person, about 1 week after surgery, the swelling will disappear. The degree of swelling in each eye can be different and make the eyes look unbalanced. However, this phenomenon will gradually disappear
The bruise will improve gradually in about 1 to 2 weeks. Remember to wear a hat or apply sunscreen on the bruises to avoid the formation of melasma caused by direct sunlight on the skin.
Wipe the face with a soft cloth until the thread is cut. After the thread is cut, you can apply makeup as usual
You can wash your hair and shower immediately after surgery, but avoid water coming into contact with the surgical area
Limit vigorous activities and avoid direct contact around the eye area
Limit activities that increase the accommodation of the eyes (watching TV, phone, reading books, sitting at the computer ...)
Abstain from foods that cause keloid scars such as water spinach; abstain from foods that cause itching and festering such as chicken, seafood, sticky foods, fishy foods...; abstain from foods that affect skin pigmentation such as eggs, beef; abstain from hot spicy food; Do not use stimulants (beer, alcohol, tobacco, coffee...) because these foods make the wound healing process longer and increase the risk of infection.
Do not rub your eyes for 4 weeks after surgery
Pillow your head up when you sleep to avoid the blood pooling in the face area causing swelling
Do not let hair get into the eye area because it is easy to irritate and can cause infection
Do not wear eye makeup for at least 2 to 3 weeks after surgery
Do not wear contact lenses for at least 1 month after surgery
Contact Hoa Anh immediately if you experience pain, swelling or discomfort in your eyes, or signs of visual impairment within 24 hours after surgery.
